In chapter 7, it talks about integration strategies. Due to the constant challenge of motivating students to learn, teachers must change their traditional roles and become facilitators of learning. Technology plays a key role in easing the change because it allows teachers to use technology tools to enhance the learning environments. There were three instructional strategies described in the book. They were a one-computer classroom, a multi-computer classroom, and a computer lab. You can integrate educational technology with one computer by projecting the computer's image on a projection screen or large-screen television, you can enhance your traditional lectures to accomplish whole-class instruction of learning objectives. One way to use two or more computers in the classroom is to set up the computers as separate learning centers for student use. Teachers can divide the centers by subject area and then create activities that continuously change to match the curriculum or lessons being taught. The most important advantage of using a computer lab or wireless mobile lab is that all students have hands-on experience using computer technology. Teachers may successfully use computer skill instruction, Internet research, whole class instruction, and tutorials.
This week since we are still doing power point, I just keeping learning differnt things about the computer program that I did not already know. For example, how to add a sound to a screen or how to add action buttons. I also learned that the History channel's website has an amazing site about Halloween and almost everything you would want to know. They also have a lot of info about other holidays.
This week was an interesting week. When I went to register for classes I found out I had a hold on my account. FUN!! I had to run all over campus to find out how to get this hold off my account so I could register. Also the FSU/UM game was good up until the end when we lost!! But other than that it was a decent week. The Packers were off so we are still 5-1!!.

In chapter 6, I learned about the ASSURE model. The ASSURE model developed by Heinich, Molenda, Russell, and Smaldina is a procedural guide for planning and delivering instruction that integrates technologies and media into the teaching process. The ASSURE model is a well-known guide for developing any instructional lessons. There are several steps of the ASSURE model: analyze the learner, state objectives, select methods, media, and materials, utilize methods, media, and ,materials, require learner participation, and evaluate and revise.
The skill I learned this week was how to put a power point together. I kinda of already knew how but when I had a question I put it into the search and worked my way through it to figure out the answer. By searching it in the search engine in Power Point it helps me to better find the information and know where to go the next time.
Since I'm writing this blog now, I'm going to talk about what I did that week that we were suppose to write this blog. Thursday of that week I went to Lake City to visit my uncle and meet my boyfriends parents so that we could drive to Atlanta. That night was horrible because the Seminoles lost to Wake Forest in a horrible game. But the weekend was much better. I went to Norwood, GA for a wedding. The weather was beautiful, the ceremony was amazing and I had such a great time. It was soooo nice to just get out of Tallahassee even for only a weekend. The Packers improved to 5-1 this weekend. GO PACK GO!!

In chapter 8, it talks about ethnics and the information age. There are five areas of computer ethics frequently discussed are 1. unauthorized use of computers, 2. hardware, software, and information theft, 3. information privacy, 4. copyright, and 5. the existence of objectionable materials on the Internet. Information privacy is the right of individuals and organizations to deny or restrict the collection and use of information about them. There are several different scams that are listed in the book under unauthorized collection and use of information. The first scam is phishing. Phishing is a scam in which a perpetrator sends an official-looking e-mail that attempts to obtain personal and financial information from the recipient. Spam is an unsolicited e-mail message or newsgroup posting sent to many recipients or newsgroups at once. The Copyright Act of 1976 and its numerous amendments apply to all creative works. A copyright means the original author or creator of the work retains ownership of the work and has the exclusive right to reproduce and distribute the creative work.
Something I learned was how to put together a really good power point. I also now know how to add action buttons and insert different backgrounds instead of using the default ones they have.
I have a pretty bad week. Trying to register for classes, I found out that I had a stop on my account that I did not know about. When I fixed the first stop I found out that I had another. A huge pain in the butt to run around campus on my day off from school. And then registering for football tickets was another fun excursion. And let's not get started on the fact that FSU lost to Miami. There goes our season, Again! Anyways hopefully we'll win against Duke. The Packers didn't play but we have to play the Broncos on MNF. GO PACK GO. GO Noles.

In chapter 6, it talks about putting technology into the classroom and talks about creating an integrated learning environment. Centers, or learning centers give the opportunity to break your classroom into many different tyoes of learning environments without ever leaving the room. Learning centers allow students to rotate around the classroom to complete projects or activites. Many educators teach their students to use an essential questioning technique, which is lookinf=g for the most important or fundamental part of a topic. In this process, students develop their own questions, find their own answers, and develop their own meaning from the informaiton they collect.
I am writing a newsletter every two weeks for my apartment complex and we just finished our first issue last week. I learned how to use a template for our newletter and how to adjust the font and pictures and copy and paste different things to make our newsletter rock!!
